Mystery

Marshmallow is, by far, the best android OS for the smartphone users. In this Marshmallow, they've introduced a number of new features that made the life of smartphone user a lot simpler. Here, we will take a look at some cool and crazy things you can do with your phone now. Yes, the custom android easter egg is still there.

10. Leave a custom message on the lock screen.

From now you can leave a little 'privacy' message for those spying eyes, or leave a reminder text for yourself (but not 'stay away' message for yourself). below the time and date on the lock screen of your smartphone.

To enable this, go to "setting" and click on "Security" and then on "Lock Screen Message".

9. Uninstall apps directly from the home screen.

With the Android Marshmallow, Users can delete unwanted apps directly from the home screen. It's the something Android users are waiting for. All to do is just long-press the app you want to delete, then pop-up will appear with the options- Remove and Uninstall. Remove option will allow you to delete the shortcut icon on your android phones.

8. Voice Search Directly From the Lock Screen.

In older version of android OS, the only tasks you can do with your  lock screen are the camera or emergency calls or simply both. But these tasks will only appear when your lock screen doesn't contain password.

But Marshmallow places Google voice search a mere swipe away—no log-in or password required. This is a big help for users who want to google anything quickly.

7. Customize the quick settings bar as per your needs.

The main thing behind giving you the freedom of changing and customize your phone and really make it your own is what makes Android the king of OS. In the Latest edition too, you can edit your notification panel. Just drag down the notifications panel- hold the little cog until it spins and a little message pops up with "click on setting" message. Then you need to "GO TO SYSTEM UI tuner" and change it as per your needs.

6. Find the Android Easter Egg.

Android releasing easter eggs with each major and awesome upgrade has become some sort of a tradition, and we totally love it. Marshmallow is no different.

To do it, Simply, "Click On Settings" and go to "About Phone" and then tap on "Android version Number" multiple times and see a magic 'Flappy Bird'-like game randomly pop up.

5. Exclude apps from Doze mode.

Doze is the best feature which is just introduced with Marshmallow by Google and it's pretty cool feature actually. Doze is developed to recognize when your phone is idle and puts it to sleep for a limited span of time. This mode is fully automated and they disabled the feature- "turning Off or On" by the user. But they gave you a way to prevent a few apps from going into Doze mode.

To do it, "Go to Settings" and to the "Battery"  and Tap the "three dots on the top right corner"  and click on "Battery Optimization" and then "Tap the downward pointing arrow" - Tap All Apps. You will now get an option to check the apps that you want Doze to ignore.

4. Use Google Translate even while using other apps.

We really ignored Google Translate, didn't we? Actually, We'd like to use it, but copy the text from one app and pasting on a separate app seems like quite a tedious process. Not anymore. Now you can use Google Translate across apps, anytime you like, and on any app you like. Just select text - translate pop-up will appear on the screen.

3. Use your micro-SD card as an internal storage.

Of course, this will work only with a phone that allows the usage of external storage. This allows you to turn your external memory storage into internal memory.

To do it, Just "Go to Settings" and tap on " Storage & USB". Go down to the bottom and you'll see "SD card details" with the options- "format" and "use as internal storage". But, I won't advise doing this setting though because in case your card got damaged, then your phone might start giving you trouble.

2. Limit what your friends/others can see.

If many people have been using your phone, like your overly-attached girlfriend or that annoying nephew or even your ONS (One Night Stand), you can limit what they can see on your android phone. Or better still, you can also create a guest profile for them.

To create a restricted profile, tap "Settings" and click on "Users" and then go to "Restricted profile".

You can also create a guest profile, by just tapping your "Settings" icon and then "Users" and click on "Create Guest Profile".

1. Google Now with just a tap.

Searching for a specific thing has never been easier with Google Now on Tap. Now, you can avoid the painful and stingy process of selecting the text, then copying it, then go to Google and then pasting it.  Once this feature is enabled, all you need to do is select the word or the phrase you want to google it and hold the home button for a little longer. Google will automatically show you the information related to the phrase or the word.

To enable this, go to "Google Now" and click on "Settings" and then on "Now Cards".
